Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created with Alien Covenant a new chapter in the Alien franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant sits down on what they think is an uncharted paradise, but slowly it becomes apparant that this world is actually a dangerous, unforgiving place of terror where it’s only inhabitant are creatures that bleed acid and want to tear you limb from limb….
The films impressive cast includes : Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, James Franco, Demián Bichir, Billy Crudup, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett and Callie Hernandez – Alien Covenant opens on May 19th
The Beguiled adapted by film maker Sofia Coppola from Thomas Cullinan’s novel of the same name – the story unfolds in a girls’ school in the state of Virginia in 1864. As the Civil War rages, The Miss Martha Farnsworth Seminary for Young Ladies has been sheltered from the outside world— until the day a wounded Union soldier is discovered nearby and taken in
WOW that trailer gives me the goosebumps – and now you can see why I named this movie in My Top 10 to get psyched over in 2017 – with such a mouth watering cast including Colin Farrell, Nicole Kidman, Elle Fanning, Kirsten Dunst and Angourie Rice, a film-maker and writer in Sofia Coppola that excites and seduces with each sumptuous picture she directs, I’m confident that THE BEGUILED this summer will be another slice of cinema magic that I can not wait for….
A Christmas Treat comes in all guises but this year waking up to this totally dark completely bonkers trailer was unexpected and most welcome – Ridley Scott’sPrometheus sequel ALIEN: COVENANT looks very distant compared to it’s predecessor and more like the 1979 original that started the ball rolling on one Sci-Fi’s greatest franchises and made Ridley Scott the famed director he is today – Alien: Covenant lands next year and stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Jussie Smollet, Amy Seimetz, James Franco and Danny McBride – here’s the official synopsis:
Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition – Here’s the official movie trailer enjoy and once again a Merry Christmas from Ridley and ourselves here at Absolutebadasses
Here’s the new trailer for monster movie KONG: SKULL ISLAND that’s directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts and stars Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L Jackson, John Goodman and John C Reilly – this new adaption is set in the 70s and if this new trailer’s anything to go by it looks all kinds of awesome – I mean how can you not get excited for this baby – first up we have a group of explorers, soldiers, island natives and King Kong himself who is BLOODY ENORMOUS by the way all locking horns on a remote island somewhere in the Pacific, secondly we have Captain Marvel herself Brie Larson getting in some action before the Marvel team take over her entire existence & finally Skull Island has a load more monster treats apart from that big infamous Gorilla for us to get totally worked up over – so take a peek at this trailer and enjoy….
“Set in the future, Logan and Professor Charles Xavier must cope with the loss of the X-Men when a corporation lead by Nathaniel Essex is destroying the world leaving it to destruction, with Logan’s healing abilities slowly fading away and Xavier’s Alzheimer’s forcing him to forget. Logan must defeat Nathaniel Essex with the help of a young girl named Laura Kinney, a female clone of Wolverine”
Here’s the first teaser trailer for LOGAN the third and Hugh Jackman’s final outing as the Wolverine – reuniting with James Mangold who directed the impressive The Wolverine back in 2013 this promises to be epic, western in style with a hint of Mad Max and a darkness that looms across it’s narrative – I’m so looking forward to seeing Boyd Holbrook thrown into the mix maybe playing mutant hater Donald Pierce now that would fun to see and what about the mysterious young girl is she really X-23 the clone daughter of Wolverine? – could Logan really spell the end for the Wolverine as we know him or will the claws be resharpened and a younger incarnation surface for future movies? Enjoy this trailer and it’s superb Johnny Cash cover of Hurt by Nine Inch Nails overlaying proceedings….
from the South Korean master of terror Kim Jee-woon comes The Age of Shadows a gangster movie set in the 1920’s, the movie follows the activities of the Heroic Corps, an anti-Japanese independence organization that existed under the Japanese colonial period in South Korea. The group used violent means to achieve Korean independence – if you’ve not seen any of Kim Jee-woon’s movies then start with 2010’s epic, nail biting I Saw the Devil it will give you a taste of what this cult movie director is all about, his brand of Asian Cinema is top draw, all are well acted, visually stunning pictures that usually nail your ass to your seat and don’t give you time to breathe until the films final conclusion – he often collaborates with superstars Lee Byung-hun and Song Kang-ho and both star in his latest The Age of Shadows here’s the trailer, enjoy but don’t forget to check out Kim’s other movies such as The Good, the Bad, the Weird, A Tale of Two Sisters and A Bittersweet Life all terrific pictures that deserve your time….
JUSTICE LEAGUE and WONDER WOMAN have landed some trailers and if your a fan of their universe and love the comics then you best sit your ass down and watch these two on repeat for the rest of your day – the Justice League looks lots of crazy badass fun, the introduction of Aquaman,Cyborg and last but not least The Flash (although I still prefer Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen) but that scene in the trailer where Bruce Wayne throws his Batarang is pretty awesome – all of this only whets the appettite for the planned Ben Affleck stand alone Batman movie whilst the trailer for Wonder Woman an origin story set back in World War I will blow your fanboy mind, Gal Gadot looks incredible and so comfortable leading the first modern female-led superhero movie, judging by it’s look, feel and high speed action we could be in for one hell of a ride next summer….
Justice League: Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, J.K. Simmons, Willem Dafoe, Amber Heard and Henry Cavill – “Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions”
Wonder Woman: Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, David Thewlis and Danny Huston – “Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny”
“Five carnival workers are kidnapped and held hostage in an abandoned, Hell-like compound where they are forced to participate in a violent game, the goal of which is to survive twelve hours against a gang of sadistic clowns” ROB ZOMBIE’s latest “31” looks deliciously deranged and dare I say it back to his imperious best, it also reminds me slightly of Stephen King’sThe Running Man but a lot more psychotic and terrifying – House of a 1000 Corpses and The Devils Rejects would both in my opinion find their way into “My Top 30 Horror Movies of this Century” so let’s hope Zombie’s latest offering return’s to their standards – 31 stars Sheri Moon Zombie, Malcolm McDowell, Meg Foster, Elizabeth Daily, Sandra Rosko and Richard Brake and opens in theaters end of October – here’s some new stills, a poster and the new trailer…. enjoy

After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain
One thing that really pisses me off is all those no good for nothing George Lucas haters out there and believe me I come across many on my social media feeds – how dare they complain about who shot who first, the digital effects on the prequels or their absolute dislike for characters such as Jar Jar Binks, the truth is clear if it wasn’t for Lucas the creator of one of movies finest franchises (yes prequels included) the cinematic world would be a much poorer place and we would not be getting extremely excited for J. J. Abrams’s latest Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens– here’s the latest trailer, a few new stills and a gorgeous new poster – enjoy but remember those goosebumps and that nostalgic feeling you may have whilst watching this trailer is all down to one man, he started this ride back in 77′ and his name is George Lucas !!
The Force Awakens is set approximately 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi
The film opens December 18th and stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Peter Mayhew, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendolyn Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis and Max Von Sydow
“A cryptic message from the past sends James Bond on a rogue mission to Mexico City and eventually Rome, where he meets Lucia Sciarra (Monica Bellucci), the beautiful and forbidden widow of an infamous criminal. Bond infiltrates a secret meeting and uncovers the existence of the sinister organisation known as SPECTRE”
Here’s the new trailer for Spectre the latest 007 movie that hits the big screen this November – loving that Sam Mendes is back behind the camera, he did such a good job with the beautifully shot 2012 Bond thriller Skyfall and judging by this first trailer Spectre could be right up there with it – take a peek at the trailer this latest Bond offering certainly looks mouth watering….

I have never met anybody who didn’t like at least one of the Rocky movies, from it’s exciting training montages, it’s thrilling music that accompanied each scene, the brilliant choreographed fight scenes and great cast led by the enigmatic Sylvester Stallone, the Rocky movies played such a huge part of my childhood and I still annually watch the box set to this day – so being a big fan and hearing of another chapter being told I was certainly pretty excited – here’s the new CREED trailer, it looks impressive, humble and really centers itself on the films main character Adonis Johnson played by Michael B. Jordan next seen playing Johnny Storm in the Fantastic 4 reboot
Adonis Johnson (Jordan) never knew his famous father, world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, who died before he was born. Still, there’s no denying that boxing is in his blood, so Adonis heads to Philadelphia, the site of Apollo Creed’s legendary match with a tough upstart named Rocky Balboa. Once in the City of Brotherly Love, Adonis tracks Rocky (Stallone) down and asks him to be his trainer. Despite his insistence that he is out of the fight game for good, Rocky sees in Adonis the strength and determination he had known in Apollo—the fierce rival who became his closest friend
